Five years ago, Alice Ejbye's son was murdered by a killer who was never found. Now seriously ill, Alice asks her best friend’s daughter, Louise, to help solve the case. Elsewhere. Peter Vinge receives devastating news.

A young man has been found, tortured and stabbed to death. Investigator Karina Horup turns to Louise for help determining whether the murder Markus. Meanwhile, Peter struggles with being a single parent.

Louise and Karina know that William Fjeldby, kidnapped and abducted in his own car, is the killer’s latest victim. William’s multimillionaire father, however, clings to the hope that his son has simply been kidnapped for ransom.

Alice receives some bad news from the doctor and, desperate for closure, promises a reward in a public video post. When the police are inundated by people who are after the reward, Karina and Louise struggle to identify anything useful.

Louise is mourning Alice and wants to go home, but a persistent suspicion takes the investigation in a new direction. Peter is in conflict with Johannes, who remains in a state of teenage revolt against his father.

Louise continues to assist Karina with the investigation to find the killer, now that he has six brutal murders to his name. Peter notices that the police are closer to him than ever before.

Unaware of who he really was, Louise spent a night with Peter. As he tries to sort out his life, Peter gives his son a message that Johannes has a hard time coming to terms with.

The police take Johannes to the station, and Louise fears that the truth about her and Peter will come out. Meanwhile, Masja has returned from Singapore and Karina, Soren and Torben desperately search for Peter before he can strike again.
