In South America, Acción Andina are working with indigenous communities to restore the high forests of the Andes; in Brazil, Belterra work with local farmers to promote agroforestry systems – growing crops amongst native trees and shrubs; and in Sierra Leone, Freetown is working with locals to plant trees to protect residents from floods and landslides.
