Episode 21
The Empress visits Wen Zongshen at the prison, and recalls the past when they were childhood sweethearts. She wants Wen Zongshen to work for her, but Wen Zongshen refuses.

Wang Xu reports the outcome of his investigation to his elder brother Wang Lin: Wen Zongshen was indeed in collusion with Xie Yuan.

Under the protection of Wei Han and others, Wang Xuan successfully returns to the Emperor's sleeping chamber through the underground palace.
Episode 27
Having not slept the whole night, Wang Xuan is exhausted. When she awakes, she finds out that Zilv has allowed Zitan to meet with the Emperor, and that Zilv will hold a grand wedding with Huan Mi in three days.
Episode 28
At the scene of the wedding, Zilv forces the Emperor to proclaim the imperial edict of passing the throne. Just then, Wang Xuan orders the "bride" to take action. The palace maid, disguised as Huan Mi, stabs at Zilv but fails.
Episode 29
After experiencing so many terrible events, Wang Xuan, Zitan, Xie Wanru, Wang Su and others are physically and mentally exhausted. Some close relationships, once forged, no longer exist.
Episode 30
The Emperor tells Wang Xuan where his testamentary edict is kept, and asks her to present it only after his death.
